Christmas 2020 is its own thing, we understand it’s a tough year for a lot of people. We also know that shipping times and waits are a real pain in the keester. If you’re anything like us, you’re a last-minute shopper. With that being said, we put together a list of items both easy on the wallet and quickly available (through Amazon and the like). Watch along to the podcast episode for this guide if you want more details and superfluous commentary. We’ve included gifts at different price points from $6 to $99 (at the time of this post.) And considering the uncertain times of COVID, you’ll find a lot of survival and preparedness items here, as well as useful novelties. Enjoy!
We adore Phoenix Shaving products. They have tons of unique and masculine grooming products that will turn heads and make the Mrs. wanna cozy up to you by the fire on a bearskin rug. This kit comes with everything you need for an emergency wet shave, and it also comes in a badass tactical stocking… just in case you need to go out into the apocalypse in style (and it happens to be Christmas time). You get to pick your own fragrance profile when adding it to your cart, but we recommend Cavendish, for obvious reasons. - $99
Just like many people this year, we’ve gotten into a lot of hobbies. One of them is wood carving! This kit comes in a great little roll-up pouch with all the items you need to start carving spoons, mugs, or bowls. These high-quality blades are made by Beavercraft in Ukraine and come highly recommended by seasoned woodcarvers. If you’re just getting into Bushcrafting, you’ll need to carve your own Kuksa. Or you can get yourself one of these Hobby Pipe blocks and carve your own freehand tobacco pipe. Both the tools and items you create with them will serve you for years to come. - $39
When sh*t hits the fan, you’re going to need to know how to start your own fire. Or perhaps you just wanna light the fireplace with some badassery this Christmas. Why not learn how to do it the old-fashioned way? This kit from PSKOOK comes with everything you need to make your own char cloth and start a fire with a traditional flint and steel. There are multiple designs to choose from, but this steel just looks like someone would have had it during the Revolutionary War… we’re also pretty sure you can use it as brass knuckles in a pinch, but you didn’t hear that from us. Comes in a tin box, with flint, steel, tinder, char cloth, and a collapsible bellow. - $16
If you’re an old fogie, you probably long for the good old days of simpler gaming, where Italian stereotypes trip on mushrooms and smash bricks hoping for some action from a Princess. This Retro Gaming emulator runs off a Raspberry Pi computer, and when it’s set up, can play every video game ever made for the Nintendo and Super Nintendo systems. This takes just a little computer savviness, but the instructions are easy to follow. And this system comes with a housing that looks like an NES and as well as SuperNES-like controllers. So you get the best of both retro worlds.- $79
Every man needs a good tool toll. Whether it’s to pack up cables and chargers, tools for the day, or to store all your Pipesmoking accessories, you need something functional that also looks badass. These tool rolls from OneTigris fit that description. We love the Multicam color, as well as the industrial-strength velcro on the outer edges so you're not losing a damn thing when this roll is packed with your precious cargo. - $15
Whether you’re camping or hiking in the bush one afternoon and need to stop for a hot meal, or want to make sure your water is safe to drink (Lord knows having the squirts in the woods is no picnic), this little cook set is ideal for any outdoorsman. It’s a simple steel pot, with a straining lid, folding handle, and two nesting cups. This little cup has a solid reputation in the Bushcrafting community, with many articles and videos on the internet with custom mod ideas. Pair it with a little pocket stove and you have everything you need for a 1-2 person cookout. We were surprised to see this on Amazon for under $10 right now with an additional 10% coupon. You won’t beat that price, ever. You can also find these in any store that has a camping section.
- $10
It’s that time of year, and you need one of these for all the parties you will not be attending because of the ‘Rona. Our Scofflaw logo, the mustachioed skull smoking a pipe, has been reimagined into a knit pattern graphic, available in 3 different colors (red, green, or navy) on both sweatshirts and t-shirts. This design is a modern take on the classic Ugly Christmas Sweater, perfect for those who maybe enjoy the Holidays with a little too much egg nog and burley in their blend. So go ahead and show off your Scofflaw pride with a little festive flair. You can also get some of our badass shirts or gaiters. - $25
If you’re someone who shaves like your grandpa with a traditional safety razor, you know how inexpensive blades are, and you probably buy them in 100 Bulk Packs! Which is amazing savings for us cheapskates. The only issue is they take up a lot of room, and the boxes are hard to fiddle with. Enter the Razor Blade dispenser from Frugal Shave. You can fit 100 blades in this contraption, and the new blade just springs and slides out the top. There’s even a warning to buy more blades when you’re down to your last 10. This item is also available in a version with a blade bank in the back to safely dispose of all your used blades. - $15
Now, this is not one specific gift purchase, but a gift idea, combining two inexpensive items to make a custom set for the gentleman in your life. Everyone needs a deck of cards, it’s the most portable and versatile gaming system anyone could have. But old school playing cards are boring! So we recommend getting a set of Premium playing cards here from Theory 11. They have over a dozen different styles you can pick to fit the person you’re buying for. Then buy a leather magnetic Playing Card case from Luck Lab to protect the set and give it a little more premium flair, available in black or brown. This will look great out on the coffee table or in the home office. Pictured here is the Nomad Hotel Edition with a brown leather case. - $25
Sometimes as a pipe-smoker you just wanna have all your tools in one place, and readily available. Enter the Screw Pop Pipe Lighter Keychain tool. This little tool is similar to the Czech Pipe tool you already know and love, but it’s been upgraded with a bottle opener, and not to mention a heavy-duty clip that will hold a standard Bic (or similar) lighter. Clip this to your bag, keys, throw it in your pocket or bag and know you have everything you need for your next Lunting Adventure. - $12
Writing letters was, unfortunately, a thing of the past, until a resurgence in recent years with people feeling a need to connect offline, away from gidgets and gadgets and things that light up. We always recommend writing personal Thank You notes whenever you can, but if you really wanna add some personal flair, you just gotta get a Wax Seal. Everyone is excited to open a letter with a wax seal. You can get them with your initial, monogram, special symbols, or get a custom seal made with your logo or insignia. There’s a long history behind the etiquette of wax seals, but whatever you do, make sure you use proper sealing wax. - $11+
Soldiers, Ruckers, Tactical or Outdoor Enthusiasts often display morale patches on their rucks, hats, or gear. This is a fun and often hilarious way to show off your personality or interests. You can display a saying, movie reference, country or state flag, various symbols or colors. This is another opportunity to find a gift that really suits the recipient, find out what they like, and find a morale patch that fits them. Make sure you get the patches with the hook backing so that they can easily stick on to various tactical accessories. Iron-On is for the boy scouts.- $6+
It’s winter, so in some parts of the world, you need a shovel in the trunk to literally dig you out of trouble. Why not get a badass shovel while you’re at it? This shovel is modeled after the Russian Special Forces Trench Shovel. It has sharpened edges and was designed to double as a battle axe. This shovel can be used as a hatchet, weapon, in addition to a trenching tool. Soldiers have even used it as a frying pan to cook eggs on. If that doesn’t convince you, Fowler, the winner of ALONE Season 3 used it as one of his few allotted survival items. It made many appearances on the show. - $30
If you’re like a lot of people during this year’s quarantine and you found yourself binging “ALONE” on the History Channel, you’ve probably thought about what you would do with a complete breakdown of modern society. Dave Canterbury (Cohost of Dual Survival) wrote the quintessential texts on Bushcrafting, living off-grid, and surviving in the wilderness. This book is a fantastic introduction to the world and will help get you set up with a good base of skills and knowledge. - $10
For many outdoor enthusiasts that wear real pants, belts are a constant source of frustration. Having done several GORUCK Challenges and hiking adventures, I had yet to find a lightweight but heavy duty belt that would stay tight and keep my pants up. Most of the web belt options always slide loose over time and require readjusting. With these Grip6 belts, there are no moving parts or mechanisms to futts with, just a simple buckle, and webbing. The key is how the webbing grips BEHIND the buckle, making it next to impossible to ever slide loose. These don’t only work great with hiking pants, with the variety of options of web colors and buckle designs, they can look at-home in the corporate office as well. We prefer the gunmetal original buckle, as well as the wood grain version, because, well, look at this site. Get a couple of belts and a couple of buckles and mix and match to your heart’s content! - $35

Father’s Day is almost here, so you’re probably looking for some gift ideas for a Dad you know. Here at Gentleman Scofflaw, we use Father’s Day as a mid-year excuse to get to make more gift suggestions until Christmas comes around! These gifts are great for men for any occasion (birthdays, graduations, anniversaries, holidays, etc.) Here are 15 gift ideas for the Dad (or Dude) in your life. Listen or Watch along with the episode for this guide if you want more details and hilarious commentary. We’re including gifts at all different price points from $5 to $160 (at the time of this post.) Also, check out last year’s Guide, as well as the Holiday Gift Guide which has more manly gift ideas if you’re a difficult schmuck and none of these tickle your fancy.
As a burly, hairy man with a Viking beard, I love the beard care products over at Phoenix Shaving. Even when I don’t have a beard, I regularly use their shaving products, because frankly, they are the best on the market. But many of you men with beards know how overpriced the stuff is. Phoenix Shaving’s beard oil comes in all their classic scents, in 2oz bottles for around $10… and it comes with a manly wooden beard comb! That’s twice as much, for half the price, plus a free accessory. Since your shaving all that money (see what we did there), you might as well get some of their Dapper Doc’s Mustache Wax to keep the unruly hairs in check. - $5-11
Every man needs a pocket knife. You’d be surprised how many times throughout the day that you need something pointy and stabby. Whether it’s to open up an Amazon package, or to fend off the neighborhood street gang, you gotta have one. This blackout folder is subdued enough without making you look like a tacti-dork, and big enough to get some real work done. Also, Gerber Knives are endorsed by the likes of Bear Grylls and Tim Kennedy… so you know it’s good. - $37
Have you always wished you knew how to remove your own fingerprints? Or fashion an improvised taser? Or maybe survive a drowning or an active shooter situation? Well, this book by Navy Seal Clint Emerson is the one for you. Unlike many survival guides that are made for the wilderness, this is designed for a more practical, modern urban environment. There’s lots of great info in there that can be read at a quick glance while taking your morning dump. Watch or listen to our episode with Clint to learn more. - $16
Sometimes you want to tell time, and sometimes you want nuthin’ fancy. These Vintage Casio watches are popular with Special Forces, hipsters, and terrorists alike, plus they look cool AF. There’s a reason they’ve been making these since the ’70s and they’re one of the most popular watches of all time. Get this version, because it’s a little bigger, more masculine, and has an ElectroIlluminessence light, whatever the hell that means. Plus it’s under $20, and an easy way to add a new watch to the collection. - $17
You may think in this digital age, “really? a pen?” But let me raise you this, can you stab someone in the jugular with your Samsung Galaxy? (use it as a bomb? maybe.) A tactical pen is one of the items every man should have in his arsenal. You can go with the Smith & Wesson full-on Tacti-Cool pen that can break windows (and skulls) and has other gadgets in it, or go with the simple tried and true Fisher Bullet Space Pen. The Bullet is easy to fit in your pocket, or even some wallets, it writes in the rain and it writes upside-down. You can’t go wrong with such a highly practical novelty. - $13-23
Backgammon is a game every gentleman should learn how to play. It’s a game of both skill AND chance, as if you combined chess and some sort of dice game. It’s not surprising that it’s the world’s oldest board game, and is still played today around the world (they even have professional tournaments.) Backgammon boards also just have a beautiful aesthetic that belongs in any gentlemen’s den. The problem is most boards are cumbersome, and most travel boards can be cheesy and awkward to pack. This all-leather roll-up Backgammon Set from Sondergut encompasses both a sophisticated yet rugged style. You can also take it with you camping, hiking, to the beach, pub, or cigar lounge. If you’re more of a chess or checkers guy, they have a version for that as well. - $39
If you’re looking to get stronger but don’t have a ton of time during the day, this is an awesome bare-bones fitness program. It was created by Pavel of StrongFirst, famous for training Russian Special Forces and bringing back the Kettlebell to the modern age. It consists of a quick warmup, then 100 Swings and 10 Turkish Get-Ups, followed by a stretching routine. It’ll take about 20mins a day, 3-6 times a week. It might not sound like much, but I first noticed after doing it a few months that I was able to carry my friend with CP up and down a serious flight of stairs at a 4th of July Party like it was nothing. The strength will creep up on you! And you’ll find after the routine you feel all loose and relaxed like you just went to a spa, it’s nuts! This program was designed to not interfere with other training activities, rather complement it. It’s especially great for people who rely on being fit and ready for their jobs. Like firefighters, military and LEO, who can’t afford to get all sore doing CrossFit and then be worthless for 3 days. You’re going to need at least a 35lb Kettlebell to start, and most-likely a 53lb within a couple of weeks. - $9
Sometimes you just want some cold whiskey on the rocks or an Old Fashioned that isn’t watered down. These King Cubes are perfect for keeping your drink cold, and because of their massive size, it will take forever to melt. So you don’t have to worry about watery spirits ever again. The silicone tray makes it easy to pop them out when you need them. Ditch those awful whiskey stones your in-laws gave you for Christmas from the novelty section at Target, and get some King Cubes instead! - $9
If your a man who loves his cold brew, this is an awesome way to make it at home. You can buy them in sets, or just find the accessories to pair with a mason jar you already have. All you do is put your grounds in the filter, drop it in the jar, pour water over it, let it sit overnight, then your Cold Brew is ready to pour and store in the fridge as is. It’ll save you tons on store-bought cold brew and serve you for years to come. Plus it just looks badass, like the coffee equivalent of a moonshine jug. - $12-30
Tacos are always a freaking mess! So fancy them up with these restaurant-grade taco stands to perfectly line up your meat-filled tortilla sandwiches for efficient face-stuffing. Plus, you can throw them in the oven or grill and turn soft tortillas into hard shells, who knew? - $20
Get ready for a hero's journey full of espionage, intrigue, and action when you pick up The Terminal List book series by Navy Seal and Author Jack Carr this father's day! Carr follows in the footsteps of such greats as Tom Clancy and Brad Thor with his action-packed saga of revenge, redemption, and the dark side of man that makes for an awesome summer read! Pick it up on audiobook or hard copy and keep an eye out for the series adaptation starring Chris Pratt streaming on Amazon. - $15
Every man needs an axe, especially for car camping or backyard fires this summer. This one is bigger than those cheesy camp hatchets that make you look inadequate in front of all the other camp dads, and lighter weight than a full-size axe. This is also what is known as a Bushcrafting axe, the axe head is slimmer and designed for your hand to choke up on for tasks that need a finer touch. This comes in highly recommended from the bushcraft community as a fantastic entry-level axe. - $50
Dads and cast-iron go together like peanut butter and pickles, it just works… You may have seen these items in the camping section and thought “a toast maker for camping, that’s a little extra.” And it would be, but these aren’t just for making toast. Think of it as a George Foreman Grill for the campfire. You can make Paninis, Hobo Pies, or use it as a cast-iron skillet to grill meats. My favorite thing to do is make a breakfast sandwich with bread, ham, cheese, and egg. And since this is a double iron, you can make two at once. Just stack your bread and fillings, close it up and throw it onto the coals for some hot gooey goodness. A great idea for the whole family to make their own custom creations, but you’ll need one Double Iron just for yourself, big guy. - $35
Guys need headlamps. For camping, hiking, walking the dog, working on the car, during a power outage, looking for their keys in the sand after too many Simpler Times. You might think “why not jus use a flashlight?” Ok Boomer. Plus this one is waterproof, dimmable, and has a red lamp to not mess up your night vision or wake people up in your tent. The flashing mode is great for cycling or walking at night so motorists know you’re there. - $35
If you’re looking for lightweight hiking boots for your rucking and training, you need these boots. I’ve used these for several GORUCK challenges, they’ve been on the streets, in mud, on the trail, in the sand, and in the ocean and still hold up great. They’re like a combination between Vietnam-Era combat boots and Chuck Taylors. When you’re doing 15-20 miles, every ounce of weight you can shave off makes a difference. Plus since these aren’t made out of godawful Gortex, they won’t hold water and give you blisters. The water will just flow out the convenient drainage holes. Like other GORUCK products, these have a Lifetime Scars Warranty, so they’ll replace them if they break, or you wear them out. - $160
Please note, most links on this page are affiliate links, we get a small commission should you choose to purchase items through these links so we can keep making The Gentleman Scofflaw Podcast.
Father’s Day is coming up, so you’re probably looking for some gift ideas, either for yourself or your own father. Here are 15 gift ideas for the Dad (or Dude) in your life. Listen along to the podcast episode for this guide if you want more details and superfluous commentary. We’re including gifts at all different price points from $6 to $550 (at the time of this post.) Also, the Holiday Gift Guide we recently posted still has many other manly gift ideas, so we encourage you to take a look at those as well.
It’s summer, and chances are you’ll be traveling. Unless you’re having a “Staycation.” Though let’s face it, a staycation is just an excuse for binging on the latest Netflix true crime series and drinking a lot of Simpler Times Lager (we have gift ideas for that below, too.) Every man needs a great duffel bag or weekender bag to travel with, or stay the night. They also need a Dopp kit to store all their Phoenix Shaving essentials and travel-size Gold Bond (again it’s summer, and batwing is a real thing). Why not get a matching set that looks great, but is also functional? Plus they have an amazing name, “Nutsac!” We don’t know how they got away with this, but we’re glad they did. All of Nutsac’s bags are made of high quality waxed canvas and leather, right here in the USA. They also come with a Lifetime Guarantee, which as you know we’re big fans of. So, do your man or yourself a favor and get a matching set of NutSacs. - $95-295
We’ve talked a lot about Phoenix Shaving on our podcast, because we really love and use their products. Even better, Douglas Smythe formulates the products and makes them himself here in the good old US of A. He’s also a great guy who we love to hang out with and support. If you haven’t yet taken the wet shaving plunge, why not start with the best? Get a gift set, with all the essentials you need to get the best shave of your life. Also, check out our live Big Shave S’West episode with Douglas Smythe, the gentleman who makes all these products. - $40
We know that traditional safety razors and straight razors aren’t for everyone. For some, they’re scary, for others they just prefer the type of shave they get from a cartridge razor. The Leaf Razor falls somewhere in the middle, and we would argue that it gives a better shave than what you get with the mass-produced cartridge razors. The Leaf is sweet because it is all metal construction and over-engineered. Plus, the blade replacements are much cheaper and less wasteful than the cheap plastic cartridges you get from the drugstore, because you use your favorite double edge safety razor blades instead of cartridges. You just snap them in half, load 1-3 blades in the Leaf, and you’re ready to go. And let’s face it, those brightly colored plastic and rubber safety razors look more like something you got at Toys R Us (RIP) than a man’s shaving tool. You’re a dad now, dress it up a little. The Leaf Razor comes in chrome, mercury, black and rose gold, so it’s classy AF. They also offer a Lifetime Warranty so you’re set. Once you buy the razor, it’s almost like free shaving for life since DE blades are so cheap. - $79
While we’re still on the subject of grooming, the cold hard truth is that some guys are hairy as hell. And although I think your wookie-like back hair should be embraced and not shamed, societal norms say it’s a no-go. Have you ever tried to shave your back on your own? It’s impossible! Men usually end up asking their significant other to give them a hand, and let’s face it gentlemen, once you do this, there’s no going back. My wife hasn’t looked at me the same way since, but there’s still hope for you! Enter, The Bro Shaver 2.2! It’s basically a genius design, it’s one oversized long-handled 3 piece razor that lets you reach all the areas of your back. Unlike it’s overpriced competitors, this razor’s replacement blades are cheap. You know why? It also uses your favorite double edge razor blades! It’s summer, so you’ll be going to the beach or pool. Invest in one of these so the women and children at your backyard BBQ’s won’t have to shield their eyes in fear. - $29
We use these double-walled stainless koozies a lot on our podcast to keep our Simpler Times nice and fresh for hours. There are a lot of companies that sell them stamped with different logos for quadruple the price, and they don’t even come with a steel lid like the Ozark ones. You can pick them up at Walmart in a variety of colors for only a few bucks each. Great for the backyard, at your desk, camping, or hiding your adult beverage at the public pool. Pick up a couple of these, you can’t go wrong. - $6
Of course if you do any rucking, you know that your gear eventually starts smelling like “a hobo” (direct quote from my wife). You’ll need to hose your bag and gear off with something powerful, this is where the Little Big Shot Hose Nozzle comes in. This little nozzle, also made here in the USA by disabled veterans, gives you 40% more pressure than your typical pistol hose nozzle, and uses 40% less water. I’ve used this a number of times for cleaning my gear, and I’d say it’s about half as powerful as a pressure washer, and that’s very powerful for a standard garden hose. Of course, you can also use it for washing your ‘84 Datsun, lawn furniture, or for getting the neighborhood dogs off your lawn. - $9
What dad in the summer would be complete without a great Hawaiian shirt? It used to be that the only people who wore Hawaiian shirts were party animals and Smashmouth fans. But with these ultra sleek and timeless designs by Avanti, you can be the ultimate leisurely badass. Think more Tom Selleck and Hunter S. Thompson than Harry Knowles. Pair the shirt with your favorite cigar to signal to those around you: “I’m on vacation, don’t bother me.” - $105
A corncob pipe is a classic. It’s also synonymous with summer, because it smokes cool and is great for the outdoors. This Dagner design is called a “poker,” because it was created to sit up by itself on the poker table as you play your Texas Hold’Em hands. So you can set it down while you’re grifting at the poker table, typing the manuscript for your latest mystery novel, or building a deck for your upcoming summer BBQ’s. It’s perfect for a veteran pipe smoker or someone just getting started. If you want to learn a little about the history of the corncob pipe, check out our episode with Scott of Aristocob. - $23
Every man needs a good pair of boots. They’re versatile, you can dress them up, dress them down, look great with cuffed jeans or a suit. The design of these Vanguard boots by Thursday Boot Co are based on the classic American service boot of the 1940s. They’re handcrafted by expert artisans using Goodyear welt construction. With proper care, these boots can be worn for a lifetime. You can also replace the soles when they wear out. Then one day when you inevitably croak, you can leave them to your favorite child in your will. Just make sure they wear the same size. - $200
Every Scofflaw needs the right bar tools at home to make the perfect cocktail. With summer here, you’ll need to whip up some quick Moscow Mules, Mint Juleps, or Gin Rickeys. Eyeballing shot measurements is for chumps. These Japanese jiggers let you measure a full 2 oz on one side, and 1 oz on the other. Plus, they have engraved measurements on the inside for 1/2 and 1/4 pours. It’ll also look fancy AF sitting on your bar table, or sophisticatedly rugged on your camp picnic table. - $8
How many times have you taken a 12 pack to a tailgate or BBQ, only to find out your beer is piss-warm after 30 minutes? You could bring a cooler, go buy bags of ice, and have another project on your hands…or, you can get a Kanga Kase Mate. These case mates are like koozies designed to fit your whole 12 pack (or 24 pack) and keep them cold, in the box for up to 7 hours without fiddling with a cooler or ice. We love the Maverick design, ‘cause ‘Merica, but if that doesn't tickle your fancy they have other designs to choose from. We’ve tested it out and it works great! - $30
Chances are you’re going to need to open a few bottles this summer. These mean-looking bottle openers from Bottle Breacher are made from 50 Caliber Bullets. They’ll look great on your bar top or in your range bag, and make fantastic conversation starters. You can even get one custom engraved with your name on their website, and are available in a variety of finishes. They’re made here in the USA by a former Navy Seal, and their company also does some good work with veterans. - $30
Some scofflaws have home offices or dens, they also wish they could light up a pipe or cigar in their man space. But as you know, the stale smell of pipe or cigar smoke doesn’t sit very well. The Rabbit Air Minus A2 Air Purifier was designed to remove and eliminate all odors, especially smoke. That’s why you’ve seen these guys in every high end cigar lounge in the country. Put this in your office and puff away, trusting that it won’t smell like an old saloon when you’re done with your smoke sessions. A great feature also is how silent the machine is, which is why we’ve used it while recording The Gentleman Scofflaw Podcast. It looks slick, too, so it won’t mess up the feng shui of your study. This is a high end piece, but well worth it, and will give you years of use while taking years off your life (because of all the relaxation). - $550
If you smoke a pipe or cigar, and also imbibe the dark nectar of the gods, YOU NEED A KENTUCKY DOUBLE! It’s a combination coaster for your whiskey glass, cigar (or pipe) rest, and ashtray. Chris hand makes them in his Kentucky shop with the finest wood, leather and steel. Interestingly enough, the horse shoe is the same one that’s worn by the stallions in the world famous Kentucky Derby. This is a fantastic functional show piece for your office, den or just out on the back porch. If you’re a cigar or whiskey collector and love showing off your prized stash on The Gram, this is the perfect staging platform for some slick photos. We’ve talked a lot about elevating the experience of your cigar or whiskey, and having a masculine timeless piece like The Kentucky just makes everything better. They’re available in a variety of finishes and are the perfect gift for yourself or the man you care about. - $99
Please note, most links on this page are affiliate links, we get a small commission should you choose to purchase items through these links so we can keep making The Gentleman Scofflaw Podcast.
It’s Christmas so everyone is either doing 12 Days of Christmas deals, sales, guides or whatever. We’re Scofflaws, we do what we want. So here are 15 gift ideas for the Gentleman Scofflaw in your life. Yeah, it’s a weird number, but we did all the work for you, so quit whining and be grateful. Listen along to the podcast episode for this guide if you want more details and superfluous commentary. We’ve including gifts at all different price points from $9 to $124 (at the time of this post.)
A corncob pipe is a classic, it’s also synonymous with Christmas, because of that dumbass snowman. It’s cheaper (and many say better) than a briar pipe. You can get one for a few bucks from our good friend Scott at aristocob.com. We’d recommend starting out with a Country Gentleman, it’s a great size and looks classy as crap. Perfect for a veteran pipe smoker or someone just getting started. If you want to learn a little about the history of the corncob pipe, check out our episode with Scott of Aristocob. - $12
If you’re looking for a unique way to carry your pipe (or cigars) and accessories to your next Herf, grab one of these. These are basically military-style pouches used by medics to organize supplies. They’re great for smoking accessories because their loop system is the perfect size for pipe accessories. You can toss in 2-3 pipes, pipe cleaners, tamper, lighter and tobacco pouch. Better yet, you can snap it to the outer webbing of your ruck sack. - $16
These socks are literally the greatest money can buy, and we can vouch for them. They’re a wool-spandex blend, tough as a bull scrote and just as soft. They keep your feet cool or warm, and stay dry. Which means no blisters if you’re using them for training, rucking or hiking long distances. They’re also guaranteed for life! If they ever rip on you, Darn Tough (an American company) will replace them for you, no questions asked. - $20
We’ve talked a lot about Phoenix Shaving here. We love and use their products. Even better, Douglas Smythe formulates the products and makes them himself here in the good old US of A. He’s also a great guy who we love to hang out with and support. If you haven’t yet taken the wet shaving plunge, you might as well start with the best. Get a gift set, or just a soap, or an aftershave, you can’t go wrong with any of their products. If you want to smell like a gentleman gun fight in the old west, definitely go with “Tombstone”… so specific. Everybody hates gyms. Plus, no dude looks masculine using a machine (especially if it’s at Planet Fitness.) There’s an alternative that we prefer, and it’s moving around heavy sh*t in the form a GORUCK Sandbag. Basically a Training Sandbag is like a Barbell/Kettlebell/Heavy Bag/Medicine Ball all rolled into one. It’s portable, you can take it anywhere and it’s great for both strength and conditioning. Plus you can train like a Marine or an MMA fighter out in the open air at the park and get weird looks from all the man bun-wearing soccer players. GORUCK’s gear is built in the USA and guaranteed for life, so you never have to buy one of these again. They’re great for Cleans, Presses, Thrusters, Snatches, Swings, Rows, Burden Carries, Turkish Getups, Manmakers, Squats, Lunges, Throws and anything else you can dream up. Every Scofflaw needs a flask to tote their Evan Williams to the movie theater or while on a Bushcrafting adventure. This flask has a shiny metallic version of our Gentleman Scofflaw Logo. It’s well-made and just looks cool and is far superior to hiding your liquor in a paper sack (face it, you’re never fooling anyone.) This is our favorite offering from our GentScofflaw merch shop. Just get one damn it. - $18
Out of all our gifts on this list, this item embodies both Gentleman and Scofflaw the most. It’s an up cycled Ammo Can converted into a Cigar Humidor. It’s the perfect combo of novel and practical. Lined with cedar, and you can customize it with your favorite hygrometer and humidification system (we recommend the Boveda option). The best thing about it is that it’s air tight, and requires almost no maintenance. Kevin, makes all these by hand here in the USA. The 50 cal. holds up to 100 cigars. If for some reason you survive the Zombie Apocalypse, you can be positive that all your favorite sticks will be fresh and ready to smoke while you’re planning your evacuation plan. - $124
